Hycor Biomedical, is an American corporation specializing in the manufacture and supply of high-quality in vitro diagnostic products. Hycor Biomedical has offices in Garden Grove, California, and Kassel, Germany. Hycor Biomedical mainly produces tests and equipment relating to Allergy and Autoimmune Disease. Current equipment released by Hycor includes the HYTEC 288 Plus and the HYCOR Ultra-Sensitive EIA.
Currently, Hycor Biomedical has an estimated 14% market share in allergy testing, second to Thermo Fisher Scientific's Phadia. To increase its market share, Hycor has divested its urinalysis products, KOVA, and is focusing on improving allergy and autoimmune in vitro diagnostics.

Products and services
The most common method for allergy testing is through skin prick testing. However, this method relies on examining a patient's reaction to the exposed allergen, and in some cases, invokes large systemic reactions. With a growing need for testing younger patients without putting them at risk, in vitro testing has become an increasingly more viable alternative.
Products
Hycor has developed multiple colorimetric assays. For allergy testing, Hycor has developed specific and total IgE, specific IgG, specific IgG4, and specific IgE EIA tests. For autoimmune, Hycor also developed testing for organ-specific autoantibodies, systemic autoantibodies, ENA-6, DNA autoantibodies, anti-nuclear cytoplasmic antibodies, phospholipid autoantibodies, rheumatoid autoantibodies, celiac disease, and circulating immune complexes.
Hycor also developed two devices for automating their colorimetric assays: the HYTEC 288 Plus, and the HYCOR Ultra-Sensitive EIA, a high throughput platform. Both provide accurate and precise specific-IgE results (kU/L) and a class of allergic response. The HYTEC 288 Plus also adds the ability to test for Autoimmune Disease and also allows user-defined tests.
